I’ve had this single nightstand kicking around my garage for a month or two. Usually, people want pairs of nightstands so a single is a pretty hard sell. The one exception to that is kids rooms, as a lot of time kid rooms are smaller and only one nightstand is necessary. With that in mind plus the cutest little deer head knob in hand, I started work on a whimsical navy nightstand fit for an outdoor loving boy.
I have to tell you before I even start that this dude made me super sick.
Maybe it’s because I’ve had several furniture projects that went so well but I got cocky and didn’t use my respirator while working on this fella. Yeah, oopsies. I don’t know what it was but I had the craziest allergic reaction to something that was on this nightstand. Before I started, I scrubbed the whole thing but when I started sanding… good grief. I was an absolute mess. I couldn’t breathe right for 3 days, no joke. I’m extremely allergic to cats so maybe that? Who knows for sure. Once he was all cleaned up and sanded, I had no problem.
But yeah, big reminder.

Now back to the post…
This antlered guy is just begging to go home to a rugged, outdoor loving kid’s room.
The nice thing about hardware is it can be easily changed as a kid grows. The antler knob can eventually be swapped out for a basketball, a library pull, or even a grown-up brass round. The paper in the drawers can be swapped out also when the time comes.
If you know a little one who would love this nightstand, hit me up.
It will be available for purchase in the next few days.
