Today was a good one.
My son’s 4th Grade performed in the school’s annual Utah history program. He dressed in my dad’s mountain man leathers, sang, and do-si-doe’d. He even asked me to dance. As I giggled and watched him boot scoot’n boogie, nearly a decade flashed before my eyes. My rolly-polly baby with the giant head, puppy sized paws, and bottomless pit for a stomach has stretched and grown into a tall, lanky, fun boy with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a gentle heart.
Time flew by faster than I could have ever imagined.
Next week, my Little Man will graduate from elementary school. I don’t know what I think about this! How could he possibly be old enough for middle school?
But then, as I look at his men’s size 7 shoes laying here on the floor I realize…
He’s growing right before my eyes, more amazing with every added inch and every new day. He has his struggles and so do I, but we are learning and laughing along the way. I love the boy that my baby has become.
