Shiny New Knobs and other Randomness

June 3, 2013

Sorry life is not being kind to you in some respects; love your determined attitude.
I think you made a good choice in leaving the dresser in its original state. The knobs do add a pretty touch for a little girl and can be replaced with originals later if desired. My mother painted a bunch of furniture in the late 60’s, early 70’s with bright colors and heavy antiquing stain. On an interior decorator’s advice she cut off the heavy, decorative legs on a huge round dining room table that was my grandmas and antiqued it to use as a huge coffee table in her family room. It would be nice to have it intact, now.

Good to hear from you, cute friend! Yeah, the dumb stuff I buy at yard sales is easy for me to over-haul…it’s the precious stuff that makes me think twice! And, for good reason! I think the knobs were a good compromise between keeping true to my family yet giving it new life for a little girl.
