Last week we headed to a family reunion outside of Oceanside, California. To break up the day long drive, we took a detour to some hot springs in central Utah to soak our feet and get the wiggles out.
I thought I’d share our adventure in case other families out there would like to stop!
The little town of Meadow is located just off I-15 near Fillmore in central Utah.
To get to the hot springs, we followed the directions given over on THIS post from Utah Outdoor Activities.
When we arrived at the hot springs, we made a left and pulled up towards the 1st hot pot. There were a few other families playing in the clear water. There is a rope strung across to hold on to. If I remember right, the water is about chest deep on an adult, but there are natural rock shelves for kids to stand and play on.
This pool is warm like a bath tub.
We sat along the edge and put our feet in the warm water and everybody loved it!
Side note, how dang cute is my niece?
I just LOVE her!
It was a blue sky, sunny day and just perfect for being outside.
I took way too many pictures but I couldn’t help it. The whole Fillmore area is just gorgeous to me.
All that farmland gives me heart eyes.
Once we felt refreshed, we decide to walk down to the next hot pot.
Getting to the 2nd spring from the 1st is a bit of a jaunt down a really rutted road, so be prepared for that.
If we had known, we would have hopped in the car and backed out then went around to the 3rd hot pot and then over to the 2nd. The road makes a big circle between all the pools but the way between the 1st and 2nd is pretty messed up. Somebody had a lot of fun in the mud at some point this spring. The road between the 2nd and 3rd and then the 3rd and 1st was much better.
My son and I liked the walking though. It did us good to be out of the car and moving our legs!
The 2nd hot spring was a really family friendly spot.
The east part of the pool is shallow and great for littles while the west side is deeper for adults to swim.
There are rocks all the way around which make great seats for dangling feet in the water.
There were the cutest little fish that my kids had a blast chasing around!
The water really is beautiful.
The blues and greens made me happy.
After playing around the 2nd hot spring, we worked our way down the gravel trail to the 3rd and final hot spring.
This one is the deepest and has a dock to jump off into the clear water. The tiny little fish were swimming around in here also and we loved watching them flit around. They were really pretty looking.
The water was so calming.
There was just something so picturesque about that final hot spring.
My 13 year old could have stayed there for hours.
Our thoughts after going to the hot springs?
We loved it, had a blast, and will definitely be going back!
Thank you to the land owners for letting families like ours enjoy your beautiful treasure.
