It’s that time again… the time when most mothers rejoice!
School starts tomorrow! No, you read that right, I said “most” mothers. Nope, I would not fit into that category. Why? Hmmm, maybe you missed all that “I’m not good at routine” blabber I’ve been spouting for the past few months, awkward. Anyhoo.
I am determined that this year is going to be different.
I am going to take this fresh start and create some happiness out of it. I’m not totally sure how, but I’ll figure a way. I am positive that my children will thrive, and I guess as long as it doesn’t kill me, we’re good, right?
1. Remember that my children have homework… and help them with it!
*My gorgeous friend, Megan @thehippiemama, shared a great website for spelling games. You simply type in your child’s spelling words, and it will generate quizzes and games for your kid to play! So incredibly helpful! Thanks Meg!
2. Set the alarm:
This is probably obvious, but, I’m going to say it anyway. Hey, Missy! Your kids need to eat breakfast AND preferably be wearing 2 shoes before racing out to catch the bus!
3. Calendar, Calendar, Calendar!
4. Squeeze in time for family FUN
5. Family Prayer and Scripture Study… even if it’s just a verse.
Bonus goal: keep learning Consistency. Yeah, I struggle. Thanks.
Welp, there you go.
For someone else, that may seem easy. But, for this scatterbrained nut-job, it’s going to take some serious work. I just keep thinking that this could be a good change. It’s a new beginning and a great time to start. My kids, especially my routine loving son, could really benefit.
I guess it is up to me to find a little joy in the journey, even if the road is a little monotonous.
Wish me luck!
