Ingredients
  

  • 24 large apples peeled, cored, sliced, and chopped into quarters
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 2 tsp lemon juice I use more like 2 TBL just to be safe
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar 1 to 1 1/2 cups, depending on personal preference
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Wash and prep apples

  • Peel, core, and slice apples

  • Chop apples into quarters. Dunk apple quarters in a container of water and fruit fresh or pineapple juice to keep color bright until all the apples are prepped

  • Drain apple quarters and place in a large pot then add 1 1/2 cups water and the lemon juice. Cook down 25 minutes on medium heat until desired consistency

  • Add brown sugar and spices then cook for 5 more minutes

  • Ladle into jars, wipe rims, then screw on prepared lids and bands

  • Process 20 minutes, adjusting to your altitude
