This darling Magnolia Weekend queen bed frame had been hanging around in my garage all fall, begging me to give her an update. When I picked her up from the local consignment store, she was dark and pretty scratched up, but solid wood. Does it bug you that my furniture pieces have personalities? What can I say, they speak to me? Because, well, they kinda do! We all have our quirks. Moving along.

When I started working on this bed, I had this vision in my mind of deep, rich color.
    It was an absolute must.

My first thought was a jewel tone green, but then I found a can of Magnolia Weekend in my stash from THIS project and knew it was meant to be. Weekend is the prettiest shade of moody, watery blue.
    Joanna knows her stuff, y’all.

This piece took two coats of paint, was distressed, and then sealed with a flat finish.

I feel like this bed would be absolutely darling living in a teen girl’s room.

It’s a traditional style but would lean fantastically towards modern farmhouse or boho/eclectic. The paint color pairs beautifully with the jewel tones that are all the rage in design this fall.

I am delighted with the way this piece turned out. It feels like this bed was always meant to be this color. Sometimes projects give you a run for your money and other times, they come out just like you dreamed up in your head. This Magnolia Weekend queen bed was definitely the latter. It’s the coolest feeling when it happens that way!

If you are in the northern Utah area, this bed will be available for purchase on my Facebook page.
    You can find that HERE.

What was the last project you did that worked out just like you envisioned?
Tell me about it in the comments!
