Remember how I told you that last year I got addicted to planners?

Well, the one I bought didn’t come with a bookmark like my original Erin Condren had. I thought it would be fine and that I wouldn’t care, but turns out those things are pretty darn handy. I tried to find a bookmark to fit my planner but had no luck. Mrs. Claus put some pretty washi tape in my Christmas stocking which gave me an idea. Why not just make my own?

This quick little washi tape craft couldn’t be easier!

Here's a quick 5 minute craft that is inexpensive and cute! | Gypsy Magpie

Cut a small piece of washi tape and stick it onto you mini clothespin. Rub it on real good to adhere then flip it over so the sticky part is facing up. Run your exacto knife around the edge to trim the excess. Lastly, pick up your clothespin and run your finger around the edge to seal the tape.

    It’s that simple!

If you want to make the tape permanent, you’ll want to paint a thin coat of mod podge over the clothespin. Remember that a little goes a VERY long way. I didn’t seal with mod podge because I’d like to be able to change up the tape later if I feel the whim. I’m funny like that. It’s all up to you, it’s your bookmark.

These cute little bookmarks have been so handy in my planner and don’t take up a lot of space. I made these 2 in 5 minutes max! I kept one and gave the other to my mama and she’s loved it. And the best part? Now there is no need to spend $10+ on a planner bookmark. For mere pennies, I made my own. Kinda makes a girl happy!

These little washi tape bookmarks could be used for tons of things. My friend used one to clip a card onto a gift and it was adorable! And, how fun would they be spray painted or glittered? So many cute ideas.

I know this isn’t a big detailed how to for a fancy craft, but I wanted to post it anyway to show how easy it is to make things you need. I have so many friends who get hung up on the word “crafty” when they shouldn’t. They don’t think they can create or don’t have the talent so they don’t even try. If I’m describing you, maybe you’re making this whole thing a lot harder than it has to be!

Simplify. Take it down a notch.
And for the love, have some fun.

Ok, tell me. Does the word crafty scare you?
