    As we meandered our way down the coastal highway, my husband found something he just couldn’t resist. Yep, food. Men.

    The ice cream was fantastic, but I have to be honest and say that BEAVER’S CHEESE CURDS are better. It’s just squeakier and if you are going to eat squeaky cheese, in my opinion, it better squeak. This was just cheese, but the big man was happy and that’s what matters, right? {I’m talking giant, drippy, delicious ice cream cones!}

    Cape Meares

    The kids loved the tour of the CAPE MEARES LIGHTHOUSE. It was absolutely beautiful inside. The intricacy in the construction was breathtaking.

    Our tour guide was very patient with our “mass amount of children.” Funny, being from Utah, I never thought that 4 was a lot of kids and always felt I had a pretty small family. From the stares we got and the obvious counting of children that people did while we were in Oregon, apparently I was wrong!

    Yes, sir, they are all mine and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

    Even the floors were made of glass!

    I know, I know, enough with the floors. But, seriously! This thing was so cool!

    Did you know that every lighthouse has it’s own unique beacon signal?

    Well, now you do.

    Just for the record, my hair LOVES humidity…Manly’s, not so much. This is what it looked like the entire trip. Sometimes I’d just look at him and giggle because I could swear it would grow an inch every hour.

    Another week there and he’d of had to pick up painting.

    Speaking of happy little trees, have you ever seen THE OCTOPUS TREE?

    Gnarliest thing I’ve ever. My kids spent a good while imagining up stories about it.

    Amazing.

    Dang, that big dude has a nice backside!

    Oh, um, so back to Cape Meares…

    Couldn’t help feeling like we were in a fairyland.

    Yaquina Head

    Oregon: Part 2 {Gypsy Magpie}

    One of our favorite places was YAQUINA HEAD and the Cape Foulweather Lighthouse.

    {Yeah, I may have a slight addiction to lighthouses. But, really, can you blame me?}

    Standing by this gorgeous building was like opening a book of love lost at sea. The feeling was so real it was almost eerie.

    My imagination was running wild and I loved it.

    I’m pretty sure that for my family, this will forever be a Happy Place.

     …Stay tuned for even more Oregon, because I just can’t help myself.

    Phew! it’s a huge relief to me that I’m not the only one who was totally enchanted by the light houses! there are stories just BEGGING to be told! I asked Casey if we could be light house keepers. Him and Dad crushed me and said they’re mostly controlled remotely. sad.
