    If you read about our Highs & Lows, you know it’s been one of those weeks. Well, actually it has been one of those YEARS so far! I just keep thinking that we are getting all the craziness out in the beginning so that the rest of 2013 can be chill. *Knocks on wood* I know, I know, “If wishes were fishes we’d all have a fry.” It’s called optimism, people!

    Because things have been so frustrating, I’ve been trying to simply the last few days. Here are some of the things that have helped make life a little easier for this tired mama this week…Friday Favorites {Gypsy Magpie}via Ikea

    Star   The STAM timer (no longer available) from Ikea has been saving me a lot of grief this week! They are cheap {$1.99} and they have a hundred uses! For example: I put one by the computer so when the kids ask to play My Little Pony, I can tell them to set the timer for 20 minutes and when it goes off, they have to find something else to do. I’ve been rewarding extra timer minutes when they do things like get their chores done without nagging, get a good score on their book report, do something kind, etc. They have been a little more motivated, which is always a bonus around here! I also have one in our piano bench. We set the timer for the number of minutes they need to practice their piano, and when it rings they are FREE!

    I am loving these inexpensive little guys! Now if I could only remember to set one when I stick muffins in the oven. Oopsies.

    Star   Speaking of My Little Pony’s, can I just tell you how fun it is that my little girls like something that I used to like? Sure, they don’t look all cute and cuddly anymore like they did back when, but at least they don’t have giant boobs and annoying little Barbie shoes!

    See! They used to be soooooooo darling!

    Modern animation, bah humbug!

    Anyhoo, sorry about that little tangent! I am loving how much my 3 year old adores her ponies. I won’t lie, I don’t mind playing ponies with her. {Note to self: If you are going to let Baby Girl “borrow” Miss June’s special ponies, don’t take them anywhere or around other kids. EEEEK! That one was a close call!}

    If you have little girls, check out the games and videos on The Hub. They have free downloadable coloring pages that you can print off, too. My 5 year old LOVES them! Oh, and there may or may not be a pony iPhone app, and we may or may not have a 9 year old boy that thinks it’s fun. Shhhhh! Don’t tell.

    Star   I will admit it, I’m cheap thrifty. So, I always love a good discount! Did you know that you can find a $10 off a $50 purchase at Lowe’s on Coupons.com right now? I’m headed there this weekend to buy 6 drop cloths to make curtains for the living room. 6 drapery panels for $50 sounds pretty good to me! Coupon is valid until May 18th, so print it out and create something fun! What could make life easier than saving $? LOVE IT!

    Star   Lastly, I am loving the rad memes/someecards floating around Pinterest! There is something for every emotion. This week I’ve had a lot of negative feelings over some personal things and quite honestly, have been in dire need of a good laugh.

     So, instead of yelling, bawling, hiding in my bed, or telling somebody off, I’ve vented my frustrations by laughing out loud to memes.

    Because after all…
