    Today an AMAZING thing happened, I actually finished a project.

    Yes, I said finished! I know, I know, it is very hard to believe. However, I did have a little motivation in the form of an angry giant who wanted to pull his truck in the garage. Shh! Did you hear that? Me, neither…

    Two weeks ago, I found a darling, sturdy, yet dismal little vintage wooden highchair at a yard sale for $10.00.

    It was one of those love-at-first-sight-because-I-see-your-potential kind of moments. I knew that this little chair just needed a few coats of apple green, a tiny bit of glaze, and some sanding to become the happy highchair that she was always meant to be. I wish I would have taken a before picture! I guess you’ll just have to imagine 1970’s dark stain with some stickers stuck all over it. Got the visual? Good, we’ll continue.

    With a little paint I had leftover from my girls room and a lot of elbow grease, fun things happened.

    Sheer happiness.

    Happiness for Baby Girl, who hasn’t had a highchair for the past 9 months. That’s *gulp* half her life. Happiness for Manly because he will soon be able to utilize his side of the garage. Happiness for my neighbors, who won’t have to listen to my compresser buzzing at all hours of the night… for now. But, I think most of all, happiness for me. Why? Because it was something I wanted to do. It was a “happy” for me, if you will. {Everybody needs a happy.}

    I had a vision and I accomplished it.

    If you know me, I am full of vision but sadly, not a lot of follow through. It’s genetic… I blame my father

    It proves, mostly to myself, that in the midst of chaos I can still do something.

    And, that my friends, is progress.
