5 Places to Buy Fairy Garden Fun

Has the fairy garden bug bit you yet?

My mama is huge into the miniature magic and I’ve been helping her collect for her gardens for the past couple years. The grand-kids LOVE her gardens and it has become a really cute thing for Nana and the kids.

Mama's Fairy Garden... a grandkid wonderland! | Gypsy Magpie

My mother has a whole fairy land at her house.

The entrance to her magical world lies in the shade of a huge old walnut tree in the backyard. There is a small water feature my dad built, hostas, a bench for fairy watching, a whiskey barrel, and an old tree stump that will soon become a gnome home. In the whiskey barrel you’ll most likely see fairies, but if you look close you’ll find tiny swings, mushrooms, a fairy door, and other pixie goodness throughout the entire area. Mom has collected so much fun stuff that her fairies even pop up on the front porch!

It’s funny that something as tiny as fairies would become such big fun for our family. We’ve enjoyed shopping for the magic almost as much as decorating! Finding good resources for our fairy obsession has been trial and error, so I thought I’d share our 5 favorite places to buy things for fairy gardens here on the blog in case you’d like to get in on the magic at your home too.

Amazon has a lot of fun fairy goodies.
Here are two of my favorites from the site…

    2. All That Stuff in The Barn

When visiting Utah, you have to make a trip up to “The Barn” in Midway! They have a whole section of fairy magic on the right side of the store just north of the cash registers. We found the cutest gnome things there and a darling little fairy farm set complete with chickens and hand tools. They were having a great sale on them around Memorial Day, so mom stocked up.

    3. Small Town Grocery Stores

I have noticed since starting the fairy hunt that many small town grocery stores have darling little fairy sections. There may not be a ton to choose from but I can always find something that catches my eye.

My local Day’s Market has an end cap of all things fairy right now.
Here are some of the items they have for sale this week…

I bought this cute little gnome there last summer.
He occasionally roams around our yard and trips out my kids.

If you aren’t near a small town grocer, craft stores often have a fairy section too. They seem to get picked over really fast, so make sure to go shopping in the early spring when they first get set out. Oh, and use your coupon!

    4. Boutiques & Summer Markets

With the popularity of fairy gardens, boutiques and summer markets are starting to fill up with fairy fun. Summer markets especially, are fantastic places to find all things pixie!

My mom first fell for fairies a few years ago while we were perusing the aisles of Swiss Days. She found a booth packed full of miniature magic and we could not pull her away! I am pretty sure she bought at least one of every single itty bitty piece in the booth. When she looked up and mentioned that she would love more for Christmas, I gladly bought her a sweet little yellow roofed house and my sisters got her the cutest little mushrooms.

Which leads me to our very favorite place to find fairy garden fun…

    5. My Plum Scrumptious

The owner of the booth that my mama first fell head over heels for also has an online shop!

Candice of My Plum Scrumptious  has some of the cutest fairy garden accessories that I’ve ever seen. She has everything from bird houses to flower pot feet, and of course fairy magic.

I have a soft spot for the Shroomyz!

This is just a tiny sampling of what Candice has in her shop.

I’m telling you, there is so much cuteness that you just have to check it out! My daughters love the little pond, the fairy sized mailboxes, and the gazing balls. So fun! I’ve been thinking that my mama needs a mushroom birdhouse to hang in the walnut tree for Christmas this year. Shhhh! Don’t tell her! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, every thing from My Plum Scrumptious is made in the USA!

If you prefer to touch all the goodies with your own two hands before you buy, My Plum Scrumptious is headed to Swiss Days this Labor Day. Make sure to stop and tell Candice and her cute fam hi!
