T-minus 21 hours until my husband’s family Halloween party… and, only 2 of the 4 costumes are done.

    Procrastination?
    Why, yes!

Right now, as I type, I’m supposed to be looking up tutorials for making a Pippi Longstocking wig.

    Now back to the post…

After I make that, I need to sew patches on Lou’s old dress, find some tall mismatched stockings, figure out where the ratty old stuffed monkey from Grandma Rose went, and decide what the heck this kid is going to wear on her feet! Yeah, those rad giant old shoes are fantastic in theory, but I don’t even want to imagine the tantrum that will be had Halloween night when sassy-pants in the massive shoes is trying to run around town trick or treating! *shudder* Maybe she can wear her brothers cowboy boots? They are too big, but at least she’d be able to maneuver them.

Hmm, need to think more on that aspect, because well, I have sooooooo much time!

The other munchkin wants to be:

Which, I’m hoping, shouldn’t be too hard to throw together! Side note: it kind of cracks me up how these girls picked something that so fit their personalities! I hadn’t thought about it until I looked at these pictures. Lou Lou is courageous and would be absolutely content living alone in a broken down old house with her horse and pet monkey, waiting for her dad to sail in from the high seas and crown her princess of the cannibals! And, Miss June, well, she’s just all sorts of fancy. It’s so crazy how 4 kids from the same parents can all be so incredibly different from each other. It never ceases to amaze me.

Ok, sorry about that little tangent, as I was saying…

I finally found the ninja costume for my Little Man. Apparently most 9 year olds are NOT over 5 feet tall. Next year we’re going to have to either make the whole thing from scratch or shop the adult costume section, and well, that’s just down right scary right there! “Um, yes son, yes that IS a doctor costume. But um, let’s go see what ELSE we can find. Anything else. Oops, yeah, don’t look over there either! That’s just naughty.”

Baby girl gets to be the purple unicorn by default. Because it’s a perfectly good costume, it’s warm {which is a plus when you live in the mountains!} and I’m too dang lazy to make something else. I keep reminding her that her favorite color is purple. Hopefully that helps when it’s time to put it on tomorrow night!

Why must I procrastinate everything? Every dang thing. I am a horrible estimator of time. Which reminds me of an awesome blog post I read recently by the adorable Amy Hackworth. Read it when you get the chance. *Squirrel!*

I am seriously struggling sticking to task tonight.

Maybe I’ll figure this wig out tomorrow…
